Setting up a MoniPay account is designed to be as fast as signing up for a social media app, while maintaining the security of a blockchain wallet.

Choose Your Mode

When you first open the app, you'll be asked to choose a mode:

• Personal Wallet: Optimized for sending and receiving payments between friends and family.
• Merchant POS: Optimized for businesses. Includes inventory management, analytics, and a dedicated point-of-sale interface.

The Setup Flow

1. MoniTag Selection

Enter your desired MoniTag. The app will check availability in real-time. MoniTags must be 3-20 characters long and can include letters, numbers, and underscores.

2. PIN Creation

You'll be prompted to create a 6-digit PIN. This PIN is the "key to your key." It never leaves your device.

3. Wallet Generation

Behind the scenes, the app generates a fresh Ethereum-compatible private key. This key is immediately encrypted using your PIN and stored in your device's secure local storage.

4. Funding

Once your account is created, you'll see your dashboard. To start sending payments, you'll need to fund your wallet. Tap the Receive button to see your wallet address and QR code.
